Registered Student Organizations will allow students to build communities through connections made by common interests and identities. These communities will provide opportunities for students to develop their leadership, promote awareness of issues, expand professional and personal competencies, and engage with Dalton State and local communities outside of the classroom.

Academic Clubs and Departmental Organizations
An academic/departmental organization is an extension of a specific academic program or department. These organizations facilitate further growth within a given discipline, fostering supplemental learning and professional development opportunities.
Beta Chi Nu
The purpose of the society is to stimulate interest in research, recognize the achievement of academic excellence, support scholarship enhancement, promote the dissemination of information in the Biological Sciences, and encourage an engaged community among our members.

Chemist Honor Society
The objective of the Chemist Honor Society is for its members to obtain experience in presenting technical material before chemical audiences, foster a professional spirit among members, to instill pride in the chemical sciences, and foster an awareness of the responsibilities and challenges of the modern chemist.

Ecology Society
The purpose of the DSC Ecology Society is to allow students to engage with ecological science regardless of prior experience via research, field work, cleanup opportunities, and events.

Engineering Club
The mission of Engineering Club (EC) is to push for greater opportunities for engineering majors and those interesting in the field. EC seeks to accomplish this mission by research opportunities, allowing students to connect to local businesses with speakers, job site tours, allowing job shadowing and internship opportunities, and in-club group projects.

Lambda Alpha Epsilon
The American Criminal Justice Association, Lambda Alpha Epsilon, engages Criminal Justice majors and minors at Dalton State through campus events, promoting/raising awareness for criminal justice issues, learning through guest speakers and law enforcement agencies/personnel, and to provide opportunities for members.

Math Club
The purpose of this club is to provide networking for Mathematics majors and related fields, student research, and to foster interest in mathematics. We hope to inspire curiosity for various mathematical fields and subjects and to promote academic growth within the Dalton State community.

Pre-Health Professions Club
The Pre-Health Professionals Club prepares students striving for a career in the healthcare field. The club supports students interested in medical, pharmacy, physician assistant, dental, veterinarian, nursing, physical therapy, occupational therapy, and more health careers. Members will learn more about their health profession and prepare their admission applications for their health professional schools. Members will have the opportunity to connect and work together as well as gain knowledge and experience by meeting guest speakers in specific health professions, volunteering, and visiting schools.

Psi Chi
Psi Chi is the International Honor Society in Psychology whose purpose shall be to encourage, stimulate and maintain excellence in scholarship of individual members in all fields, and to advance the science of psychology.

Community Engagement & Advocacy
Service organizations strive to provide a wide variety of safe, well-planned volunteer and community service opportunities. Advocacy organizations actively educate and cultivate interest in specific issues. In addition, they all foster a life-long commitment to civic engagement and provide opportunities for students to reflect on their community service experience.
Environmental Sustainability Club
The Environmental Sustainability Club promotes sustainability on and off campus; educates the campus population on sustainability as it relates to all majors; cultivates an idea of a “sustainable self” within all involved; and instills a sense of professionalism in all participants.

Young Democrats
The purpose of the Young Democrats is to stimulate an active interest in governmental affairs among Dalton State College students; to increase the efficiency of popular government; to foster and perpetuate the ideals and principles of the Democratic Party; to recruit the most promising material for leadership; to encourage statesmanship; to aid the Democratic Party; to provide through its administration the highest degree of justice and social welfare; and to serve as a voice for young people within the Democratic Party.

Diversity and Inclusion
Diversity organizations facilitate the maintenance of and/or education relating to customary beliefs, social forms, and gender, racial, ethnic, spiritual, or social group traits. Diversity organizations foster communication, understanding, and positive relations among cultural groups.
Association of Latino Professionals for America (ALPFA)
The purpose of ALPFA is to succeed our Wright School of Business students, as well as other students, to gain many connections and experiences throughout our involvement in our community and the surrounding communities. ALPFA continues to build upon its proud legacy with a mission to empower and develop men and women as leaders of character for the nation, in every sector of the global economy.

Black Student Union
The purpose of the BSU is to provide a safe space to gather, collaborate, share ideas, and concerns as it relates to matriculating as black students at Dalton State College. Each student is an important contributor to the College’s mission and black students are needed to assist in accomplishing the college’s goals and objectives: to promote diversity, rich collegiate experiences, active leadership, and positive contributions to the college community and beyond. To ensure effective and successful participation of black student voice, this organization will provide the best possible environment to encourage, and also guide decisions that will identify, explore, and recommend specific actions in the recruitment, retention, and support of black students at DSC.

The Justice, Equity, Diversity, & Inclusion (JEDI) Leaders are a diverse group of students committed to bringing awareness to diversity issues that affect all students at Dalton State. They develop and execute educational and interactive programs that promote and welcome diversity and inclusion and increase student involvement and interest in multicultural topics.

Latin American Student Organization (LASO)
Create an inclusive community for students of Latin American heritage and their allies at Dalton State College. Bring awareness to issues that affect minority communities, with special attention to the Latin American Community, and educate students on how to tackle these issues. In addition, the group helps educate students on Latin American culture and history.

Faith-Based or Religious Organizations
Faith-Based or Religious organizations serving the DS campus are based on the philosophy of providing opportunities for spiritual enrichment, social activities, and religious service. Religious organizations strive to allow students to integrate spiritual values, intellectual pursuits, and personal development.

Fraternity or Sorority Organizations
Social fraternities and sororities are those organizations (most recognized as single-gender) that provide students with a social atmosphere while establishing standards in academics, philanthropy, community service, and education. These organizations are exclusive (used to denote attaining membership in only one organization) and are initiatory by historical standards.
Alpha Kappa Lambda
Alpha Kappa Lambda is a nationally recognized fraternity that aims to empower and educate men in their undergraduate years. AKL focuses on several philanthropy, volunteer, leadership building, and educational based topics to help build our members’ careers and future prospects.

General Interest Organizations
General interest organizations provide an opportunity to plan and participate in various programs that provide students with support, social interaction, and co-curricular opportunities outside the classroom. These organizations promote events regarding topics of interest that enhance student learning inside the classroom through practical application outside the classroom.
Cheer Club
The DSC Cheerleading Team promotes college spirit by supporting the athletic teams and crowd at any sports game. They support the community to benefit the school’s spirit. As a team, members act as role models to younger generations and siblings or mentors to any individual they come across.
